The MA Program in History
The M.A. Program in History prepares students for doctoral study as well as a range of other career paths served by the methods of historical inquiry. Each M.A. student must complete at least eight graded graduate courses and a writing requirement. Graduate students may also enroll in language courses, but these do not count toward the degree requirements.
Both one and two-year plans of study are available. To learn more about tuition and fees for in-state and out-of-state applicants, consult the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences website. To learn more about loans and financial aid, consult Student Financial Services.
The Department of History begins the review of M.A. applications on a rolling basis beginning on January 15 until the final deadline of May 1, with priority for early applicants. To learn more, contact the Director of Graduate Admissions.
