How to Add Panopto Lecture Capture to Collab
- Click on Site Settings on the left side of the Collab course page.
- Click the Manage Tools tab at the top.
- Click the check box beside Lecture Capture.
- Click Continue at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Finish.
- You will now have a Lecture Capture tab in your Collab site.
Panopto Lecture Capture Basics
- When you’re ready to record a session, click on the Lecture Capture tab in your course’s Collab site.
- Click Launch Panopto. You will be redirected to the Panopto tool.
- Click Create at the top. Click "record a new session."
- If you are using a classroom computer, the software should already be installed on the instructor computer. If you are using your personal UVA laptop, you will need to download the software.
- Click "open Panopto."
- The Panopto tool will open. You can record your computer screen, powerpoint slides, the presenter camera in your classroom, and the audio.
- Click Record.
- When you're finished, click Stop.
- A "recording complete" pop-up will appear. You can edit the session title and description if you want.
- Click Done.
- The recording will automatically upload to your Collab site. You do not have to keep the Panopto window open for it to upload.
- The recording will be available to your students in Collab under "Lecture Capture." You can edit your video files in Panopto if you need to.
