Current Research
My current project is a history of prostitution in the United States from 1945 to 1980. I am particularly interested in using prostitution to examine what happened to notions of "female hetersexual deviance" as the strict rules about white female heterosexuality that characterized the post war decades gave way during the mid-1960s and thereafter.
