Cultural history sits at the crucial intersection where history connects with other disciplines like English, comparative lit, musicology, film studies, media studies, American Studies, and critical theory. This readings course introduces graduate students to the theory and methods of this interdisciplinary world through a survey of key texts in twentieth century US history. It also explores increasing importance visual culture studies and sound studies.
